Amy Bellis is a successful bridal shop owner from Merseyside. Amy first entered the Miss Teen GB competitions in 2013, she had so much fun and made sure she applied again the following year! Amy landed herself a place in the 2014 grand final and walked away with the Miss Junior Teen Great Britain crown! Amy had the most incredible year with her crown and her love for sparkle and gorgeous gowns lead her to open her own bridal shop! In 2017, Knowsley Bridal Suite was born when Amy was just eighteen years old! Amy designed the most incredible interior for the shop which saw her nominated for an award at the Bridal Buyer Awards! Amy now has her dream job of helping brides across Merseyside, and the UK, find the dream dress for their special day.
As much as I have tried to keep it brief on sharing my experience competing in Miss Junior Teen GB, I just can’t, as there is sooo much I have to say! So let’s start at the very beginning.
Back in 2013 a friend of mine told me she was entering a pageant – Miss Junior Teen GB, and so I checked it out. Searching through the website and seeing how much fun it looked, I decided to give it a go. I didn’t place anywhere but because I had so much fun, I decided to enter again the following year. I had no idea that that was going to be the year I would be crowned MJTGB and everything would change!! Not only did I grow in confidence but I made forever friends with girls from all over the UK (and remain friends to this day).
Miss Junior Teen GB opened so many doors for me, from meeting pop stars, taking part in catwalk shows and being invited for lunch with the Lord Mayor was one of many opportunities I encountered during my reign. They were truly the best times of my life and having Holly and the team encouraging me every step of the way, I knew it would be possible to achieve anything I put my mind to. And that’s exactly what I did!
Fast forward 4 years and here I am, a successful businesswoman. My dream of opening a bridal boutique has came true!
My hard work and determination has helped me achieve my dream. I have had my pageant friends modelling my dresses for photoshoots and even had some who have said ‘yes to the dress’ for their upcoming wedding!!
So to all you girls who are contemplating whether you should enter Miss Teen Great Britain…DO IT! To all you girls who have reached the finals… GOOD LUCK and to all you girls entering for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th time… KEEP GOING, because I guarantee you, you will not look back!!!!
