The lovely Eddion Holmes-Dennett, was crowned Miss Junior Teen Great Britain 2018 at the two day grand final in Blackpool in October! Read her interview below to get to know Eddison a little better!

What made you want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competitions?

I decided to enter Miss Teen GB 2 years ago as initially it looked like a fun way to meet people from across the country and build confidence. However, when I re-entered to compete in 2018 I saw an opportunity to use the Miss Teen Great Britain pageant as a platform to be a positive role model for other young girls and I had an amazing time competing, I had to enter again!

What did your family and friends say when you told them you had entered?

At first they were sceptical however their views of pageants quickly changed when they saw how positive they were and have been very supportive ever since.

What did you do to prepare for the final?

I raised just under £1000 pounds and I completed appearances, I also had training with Racheal Tate who helped me in the run up to the final.

What was your favourite part of the grand final weekend? (besides winning the crown)

The entire weekend was amazing! I loved meeting the girls and having so much fun. However, I think my favourite part was when I got to see my pageant bestie Freya Clark or when I was on stage as I loved the buzz from it!

How did your friends and family react when you won?

All my friends were at home watching on various live streams and I had messaged from them all when I won and my best friend called me crying haha. All my family were screaming and crying they were so proud.

Who is your role model?

My role model is my mum because she’s a determined, successful woman who is liked by all and always influences me to be the best I can be and supports me throughout everything I do, as do all my family.

What would be your dream job?

I think probably Holly’s job, haha.

What is your favourite TV programme\film?

I actually really like thrillers, and I’m really into Prison Break at the moment, I also really like Gossip Girl. However I think my all-time favourite film is legally blonde, #girlpower haha.

Do you have any plans for your year as a Miss Teen Great Britain queen?

As I finalist I worked closely with Derian House Children’s Hospice as this is my local hospice that is connected to Together For Short Lives and I plan to continue to work with these. My sister Queens and I are actually attending their siblings Christmas party and handing out gifts that we are collecting! I am also looking into planning my own ball type event with my sister queen Ellie!

When you aren’t busy being a beauty queen, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

Last year my year was basically consumed with preparing for Miss Jr Teen GB however I really enjoy skiing and have been skiing with school abroad for the past 3 years. My sisters have 2 horses, so I also help with these, and I’m very creative and like art so I’m always busy with my GCSE art course work!

What advice would you give to girls who want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competition?

Enter! I promise you will have the best year preparing and an even better experience competing. I have met so many amazing people through pageantry that I wouldn’t have met if I didn’t enter and it’s such a positive system to get involved in.

Describe your Miss Teen Great Britain experience in three words:

Positive. Amazing. Fun!
