Get to know your Little Miss Teen Great Britan, Yasmina Newbold!

What made you want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competitions?

I’ve always loved being on stage, it’s the best feeling. I wanted nothing more than to throw myself into a new experience and meet new people!

What did you do to prepare for the final?

I made sure I set weekly goals for myself, whether it was the smallest thing or the biggest. I even kept a little pageant book with things I needed to do (or pack) then ticked them off once done and it cleared my head so much! I got to know all the other girls and the current queens at the time online and I took any advice I could.

What was your favourite part of the grand final weekend? (besides winning the crown)

It was genuinely from the moment I stepped into the hotel to the moment I left (sadly). I met so many inspiring girls that weekend and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

How did your friends and family react when you won?

Like me, they were in shock for the next couple months until it finally sank in. As it was my first time doing a pageant, we didn’t expect anything at all!

What does it mean to you to be a Miss Teen Great Britain queen?

It means the world to me, getting to wake up every day and knowing that I have all the experiences to look forward to makes me the happiest girl.

Who is your role model?

I was asked this in my interview at finals and my role model is definitely my best friend Grace Foxwell. Although she doesn’t do pageants, she constantly has my back and would do anything for me. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for her.

What would be your dream job?

I have two completely different options. Especially living in London, I would love to do fashion buying or business, even thinking about it makes me excited. However, on the other hand I’ve always been interested by true crime or the FBI, and perhaps do Criminology.

What is your favourite TV programme\film?

This is definitely the hardest question I can go on for days listing them all. I seriously can’t choose!

When you aren’t busy being a beauty queen, what do you do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

YES! I love to keep myself busy. I’ve been doing theatre classes and contemporary dance for so many years. Like I said, being on stage brings out the best version of me and fills me with so much joy. Another thing is that I own a small online clothing business called Luxury Angels. I also love to bake, I’m actually Coeliac (gluten free) so my whole life it’s been super difficult to buy cakes and pastries etc in cafes. So I’ve always been baking at home since I was tiny!

What advice would you give to girls who want to enter the Miss Teen Great Britain competition?

GO FOR IT! WHY NOT! A year ago I would not have thought I was capable of even making it there. Every single girl who has been a past finalist will say it was the best experience. You will be so proud of yourself and you will be able to look back on all of the memories we make.
